SLOW PLAY POLICY – OPENS 2014
Due to the increasing problems experienced with slow play at our Opens in 2011 & 2012, the Management Committee of Belton Park Golf Club (BPGC) has introduced a policy to combat this.
The following policy will be effective for all Opens in 2014:
1.BPGC will issue all competitors with a time schedule for all three loops on the course. Holes 1-9 should take no longer than 1 hour 57 minutes, holes 10-18 should take no longer than 1 hour 54 minutes and holes 19-27 should take no longer than 1 hour and 51 minutes.
2.There will be course marshals patrolling the course to identify any groups that are visibly losing ground on the group in front and who are not playing within this time schedule.
3.Any group that appears to be losing ground will be monitored. If the group in question are not playing within the time schedule and if their pace of play does not improve, he will indicate that the group are officially “on the clock” by displaying a yellow flag.
4.If that group come to a tee and the group in front have already completed the hole, they will be instructed to pick up their balls and proceed to the next tee.
BPGC would ask all golfers to consider this policy before entering. Everyone who enters a BPGC Open in 2014 is understood to have accepted this policy.
